Hofsink, Albertus Harry (Barry) passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the age of 67, after battling prostate cancer. Barry was an outdoorsman, he loved wildlife, live blues and folk music, hiking and prospecting as a hobby. Barry spent his career working as a skidder operator in the Bulkley Valley.
Barry will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Anne Zeiler Hofsink (Thiessen), his dear children Bonnie (Chris) Schoonderwoerd and Nathan (Taryn) Hofsink and stepsons Wade (Monica) Zeiler, Ken (Leigh) Zeiler and their children. Barry will also be forever remembered by his precious grandchildren Sydney, Luke, Bianca and Ethan. He will also be missed by his siblings Hanna (Art) Lengkeek, Betty (Harry) Scholtens, Jennie (Martin) Hooimeyer, Sonja (Peter) VanBostelen, Ben (Rhea) Hofsink, John (Pat) Hofsink, Sophie (Yogi) Vanderleest and numerous nieces, nephews and their children, cherished friends and respected coworkers.
Barry was predeceased by his son Kyle Anthony Hofsink, his sister Helga Jean Hofsink and his parents Jan Hendrik and Zwaantje Hofsink (Noppers).
A funeral ceremony celebrating Barry’s life will held at 11 am on Saturday, February 22nd at the Evangelical Free Church at 1838 Main Street Smithers British Columbia with Pastor Dwayne Goertzen officiating. Internment will follow at the Telkwa Cemetery for family members.
