Andrew Ernest Malbeuf, 49, of Smithers BC passed away suddenly on October 13th, 2017. He was a loving husband, a father, a brother and a son and will be sadly missed by all.
Andy was born in Prince George B.C. on December 14th, 1967, and has lived and worked in the Bulkley Valley for 30 years. A well-known and respected loader operator, he started his career working alongside his father in the logging industry at the age of 17.
Andy was a huge fan of all sports. His passion for golf and hockey led him to many years of playing, coaching and mentoring. As an active member of the Smithers Minor Hockey Association, Andy instilled his love of the game (a devout Habs fan) in his children and in all of those he coached. He was also an active supporter of the Junior Golf program and will be greatly missed by both the hockey and golf communities.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon (Barnes); children Emily (16), Sean (14) and Eric (11); parents George and Heather Malbeuf; in-laws Susan Barnes and Dave Jackson; sisters Sheila Malbeuf, and Jennifer (Chris) Bobick; sister-in-law Kati Ramsay; nieces Alisha Ramsay, Estella and Kinsley Bobick, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pre-deceased by father-in-law Bob Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to Smithers Minor Hockey Association, or the Junior Golf program at the Smithers Golf & Country Club.
