“Toni” Antoinette Lopaschuk (née Wheeler)
May 14, 1934 – May 25, 2025
Born in Barrie, Ontario on May 14, 1934, Toni met and married William (Bill) Lopaschuk, in Burns Lake on July 12, 1952. In 1966, they made their home in Telkwa, where they lived together for the remainder of their days.
Toni was a vibrant member of the Telkwa community. She was an active member of the Telkwa Seniors, a joyful participant in local theatre productions, and a proud singer with the Pretenders Choir. With a flair for storytelling and a natural dramatic spark, she brought energy and heart to every performance.
She also expressed her creativity through painting, creating beautiful works of art that are cherished by her family and friends. Toni loved her community deeply and found joy in connecting with others through stories, laughter, and shared experiences.
She worked for many years in the lab at Bulkley Valley District Hospital, and her warmth and dedication were felt by colleagues and patients alike. After retiring, Toni enjoyed travelling the world, but always returned home to Telkwa with fresh stories to tell.
Toni is survived by her son Randy (Anne), daughter Lynn (Cal), and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William, her granddaughter Sarah, and her son Gary. She found immense joy in her eight great-grandchildren, who brought light to her later years.
Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Preto, Dr. Youssef, NP Brandin, and her entire care team at Bulkley Valley District Hospital for their compassionate care.
Toni will be remembered for her creativity, spirit, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
