Grace Duursma

Peacefully with family by her side, Grace passed away on Wednesday, May 15. Though we will dearly miss her quiet and thoughtful ways, we rejoice that she is now living in the presence of her Saviour whom she served faithfully throughout her earthly life.

Born in the Netherlands, Grace experienced the ravages of war as a young person, and later immigrated to Canada with her family and her beau. Shortly after this, she married Henry Duursma, and together they raised their eight children in the Bulkley Valley.

Grace was predeceased by her husband Henry, and lovingly remembered by her children Grace (Albert) Plantinga, Annette (David) Ward, Alice (Michael) Beck, Sieger (Nancy) Duursma, Wilma (Calvin) Binnema, John Duursma, Margaret (David) Martin, Bill Duursma; daughers-in-law Barbara Duursma and Rowena Shepherd. She leaves behind a great legacy for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

As family, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the doctors and exemplary staff of the Bulkley Lodge who cared for our Mom and Grandma with compassionate and gracious care.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday May 21st at 2 pm in Faith Reformed Church of Telkwa.
