Gretel Miles Obituary
It is with sorrow and love that family and friends mourn the passing of Gretel Miles of Hazelton, at the age of 73 years, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
She leaves behind her son Morgan and grandson William Joaquin of West Palm Beach, Florida, and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Elizabeth Geiger.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Gretel moved to Canada in 1973 and earned a degree in social work at the University of Victoria. She also studied tarot, astrology, I Ching, herbs, language, politics near and far, was a journalist, photographer, and lover of fabric and stones. She volunteered many hours to the Kispiox Valley Music Festival, the Hazelton Pioneer Museum and Archives, and Misty Rivers Arts Council.
A Celebration of Gretel's life will be held at a later date.
Family and friends wish to send a special thank you to Dr. J. Wiens and Dr. D. Pichie, and the staff at Wrinch Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion.
