Helene Marie Rose (Quirion) Doyle

Born June 19th, 1940, St. Gedeon, Beauce Quebec

Passed Away February 2nd, 2023 in  Houston BC, at the age of 82

Our beloved Helene, was born in a small town in Quebec, to Joseph and Elodia Quirion. She had 2 brothers and 6 sisters. In 1955, she met the love of her life, Harry and they were married on August 15th, 1959. In 1983, they made the move from Quebec to Smithers BC. Harry worked for VIA Rail and Helene as janitor. In their spare time, the taught ballroom dancing in Roman Catholic School gym once a week and  privately in homes for those who could not attend. They both loved attending church every Sunday and on holidays, and loved the relationships they developed with the congregants. In 1992 Harry took early retirement which allowed them to begin their journey as “snowbirds” for 12 years.  In 2005, they settled in Houston which they’ve called home ever since.

Helene had a very loving personality and was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She loved camping with family and friends, mushroom picking, carpet bowling with her senior friends, playing games, and sleeping anywhere. One thing we will miss is her amazing sense of humor, and that she was always up for a good laugh (even the ones at her own expense). She had such a big heart that she loved all animals. She even had a “pet” squirrel and fox!

She leaves behind her husband of 63.5 years, Harry, her four children Mitchell, Johanne (Alain), Carole, and Kathy (Rick), her grandchildren Kevin and Dave, Jonathan and Danny, Crystal (Nelson), Amber, Laura (Glory) and Max, and her great grandchildren Casey and Ainsley-Rose.

We would like to thank everyone who cared for her in any way. For medical assistance, for meals brought in, for visits, for afternoon games, for prayers, or whatever else we may have forgotten.

A Funeral Service will be held February 16th, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at St. Anthony’s Parish.
