John William Lychak

"There is an Eagle in me that wants to Soar"

John William Lychak, 35, of Smithers, BC passed away on November 23rd, 2017.  He was the most loving son, brother, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed by all.

John was born on September 6, 1982 in Smithers where he was proudly born and raised.  He moved to Prince George in 2003 where he attended University, worked, and spent time with many wonderful friends, and his sister’s family.  He was so proud of his role as an uncle and made many wonderful memories for his cherished nephews. 

John enjoyed music of all genres.  Many of us can picture him rockin' out in his truck, at social gatherings, or singing at karaoke.  He had the biggest smile and the warmest hugs that could ease anyone’s pain and suffering or just brighten their day.

John endured tremendous pain in the last few years of his life and though we are deeply saddened, we are also at peace that he is no longer suffering.  We will miss looking at his beaming smile, hearing his cheerful laugh, and feeling his welcoming and reassuring hugs, but we know that his powerful spirit is with us calming and comforting our sorrow.   

John is survived by his parents, Edward and Ronalee Lychak; sister Elizabeth (Richard) Sitoski; niece Katie (Jesse) Hamel and great nephew Ryker; nephews Evan and Adam; Grandmother Lynn Lychak, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and very dear Jenna.   

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society, where John was passionately raising money to honor his sweet puppy, Angie, who is excited, no doubt, to have John with her.
