Joseph Pratte Obituary
Joe was born in Vancouver, BC, and grew up in a foster home with a sister and two brothers.
After graduation he spent 5 years in the Navy. Later he moved to Calgary where he met Sandra Nelson. They were married a year later and then in 1969 their son Andrew was born, followed by their grandson Alexander in 1994. Joe cared for Sandra for 12 years after her stroke.
Joe’s most rewarding work was working with young offenders and developmentally challenged adults. He loved coaching sports, especially baseball. His goal was always to help young people to reach their potential.
Joe spent 2 years as a custodian for School District 54, at the high school and the Christian School. After retirement Joe worked for the Brain Injury Association and Domestic Peace. He visited several residents of Bulkley Lodge, offering them help and friendship.
Joe would like to be remembered as a gentle man of God.
