Karl Mast
March 28, 1931 - February 10, 2025
Karl Mast passed away peacefully at the age of 93, after a brief stay at the Bulkley Valley Hospital in Smithers, BC.
Born in the black forest region of Germany, Karl immigrated to Canada in 1954 to pursue his dreams of owning his own farm. He and his wife Tomke, had built a strong and loving life together, while raising their family and working tirelessly on their farm in Tatlarose, BC.
Karl will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering integrity. He had a unique ability to make others feel comfortable, a love for nature and hiking, and a special talent for delighting young children. His life was defined by hard work, dedication to his family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Karl is survived by his wife, Tomke, children Erik (Carol), Doris (Bruce), and Bert (Joyce), as well as grandchildren Lori (Chris), Lyndsey (Alex), and Tyler (Jennifer), and great-grandchildren Kaylee, Jake, Peter and Brooklyn.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all their friends, neighbours and caregivers for their kindness and support.
A memorial gathering will be held in Smithers this summer, to celebrate Karl’s life.
