Larry Fordyce Frank

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Fordyce Frank on July 3, 2024, in Smithers BC, at the age of 80.

Larry was predeceased by his daughter Kathy Dawn Frank in September 2023, as well as his brother-in-law Mel Messmer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years Sharon; his granddaughter Tamia Frank of Vancouver BC; sisters, Jean Messmer of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Sandra (David) Elkin of Smithers, B.C., and Adele (Randy) Burynuik of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.

Larry was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on February 16, 1944, and the family moved to Humboldt, Saskatchewan where he attended school. Larry worked various jobs in Saskatchewan before getting his Auto Body ticket. He did Auto Body work in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Inuvik and B.C. In Smithers he worked for McEwan Auto Body and Al's Custom Auto Body.

In 1979, while in Edmonton he met the love of his life, Sharon Foster, thanks to his sister Sandra. They married in 1982 and he adopted Sharon's daughter Kathy. In 1983 they moved to Smithers, and he worked for Al's Custom Auto Body until they started their own courier/delivery business, S. & L Speedy Delivery, which he did for 30 years. He loved seeing all the people and it kept him very busy driving all over this vast area and he loved it. He always said he had a wonderful workspace. He finally retired in 2017.

Larry loved watching Nascar, hockey, curling, rodeo and other sports. He spent hours reading, playing cribbage and he loved spending time with family. He was always up for a good crib game with one of his great nephews.

You will be forever loved and deeply missed.
