Laurie Darlene Palmer
May 18th 1961-April 14th 2025
Born in Smithers, BC, Laurie was the middle child of five
and a quiet girl who loved to read and ride horses.
Laurie was a mother to her beloved daughter Nadine, a
wonderful and loving stepmother to Trisha and Tynisha and a caring and nurturing presence in the lives of all her nieces, nephews and most children that knew her.
Laurie and her partner Vern, shared a loving partnership filled with deep connection, adventure and shared laughter.
A talented businesswoman, Laurie owned and operated
4th Avenue Hair Design for 16 years, building not just a
successful salon but lifelong friendships along the way
In her later years, Laurie faced Parkinson’s disease with
extraordinary grace, strength, and courage. She lived with
dignity, never letting the illness define her, right up to her last
day as she embraced the spiritual journey that awaited her.
Laurie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet
strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
