Loretta May (Moore) Flint

Loretta May Flint

January 25th, 1940 - August 20th, 2026

Loretta Flint was born and raised in Edmonton, AB on January 25, 1940. She was the youngest of four children of Ernie and Laura Moore. She went on to become a registered nurse, graduating in 1964. She worked as nurse in Bella Bella and then Terrace, BC, where she met and married Geof Hutchinson. Soon after they returned to Telkwa, BC to run the family farm on Woodmere Road. Laurel was born in May of 1971 and Nikki arrived December 1972. For many years Loretta enjoyed nursing at the Bulkley Lodge in Smithers, BC.

The friends that she made during her nurse training remained lifelong friendships which she maintained her whole life. She enjoyed many nursing reunions and visits with classmates.

Loretta married Bob Flint September 2003. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and traveling. Spending time with family and friends over food, games and drinks was always a highlight.

She was an active member of the United Church, Telkwa Seniors, and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Loretta was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and spent the last two years at the Bulkley Lodge. She passed peacefully on August 20, 2026.

She is lovingly remembered by Bob Flint, children Laurel (Glenn) Foerster, Nikki (Warren) Kluss, stepchildren Terry Flint, Victor (Gen) Flint and Kelly (Hans) Flint, grandchildren, friends and other family members.

Donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

There will be a service at the Saint James Church in Smithers BC on October 10, 2026 at 2pm followed by snacks and visiting at the Telkwa Seniors Center at 3pm.
