Obituary
Lucia Palumbo was born on December 12/1928 in Roseto Valfortore, province of Foggia, Italy
She Immigrated to Canada in November 1953 to settle in Smithers BC. Lucia married the love of her life Nicola Donato (Danny) Palumbo on December 12/1953.They had two beautiful children Danny Jr. and Anna Lucy.
Lucy worked at the BV Hospital where she learned English with the help of the nuns that ran the hospital, she worked hard and gave her loyal devotion there for about 10yrs. Later, she became employed at Smithers Janitor Service as well as working as a chamber maid at the Capri Motor Inn, all the while still doing what she loved, which was creating magic in her garden.
After she and Danny retired she had the time to enjoy more of what she loved which now included a second garden on their hobby farm, and of coarse the most important and fulfilling job of being “ Nonna” to Mercedes & Nicolo.
We will forever miss the over abundance of her food including the Fresh Sauce & Pasta that filled the Sunday dinner table.
