Maria Gregori Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Marija Gregori. Marija passed away on May 18, 2018, in the Bulkley Lodge with family by her side.
Marija was born in Zg. Gorje, Slovenia on December 8, 1921. She met Leo after the war and they married in 1946. In 1947 they moved to Zurich, Switzerland, and immigrated to Canada in 1951. They crossed Canada by train and when they arrived in Smithers, upon looking at the beautiful mountains, decided to go no further and made it their home.
Predeceased by her husband, Leopold, in 2001, she is survived by her daughters, Mary and Majda (Scott).
Marija loved her flowers and had a great vegetable garden which she tended until she was 90. She was also very fond of her chickens. She always looked forward to the visits from friends that stopped by for coffee.
We thank Dr. Barbara Kotze and the nurses and staff at the Bulkley Lodge for the excellent care she received during the last years of her life.
