Merle Jacqueline 'Jackye' (Hagman) Hamblin

Merle Jacqueline Hamblin (Hagman) beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021.

“Jackye” was born on May 21, 1940 in Smithers, BC.  Although she lived and made friends in every part of BC, her home was in the Bulkley Valley.  If you ask any of her children, if there was a need, she would be there.  Jackye put her family’s needs ahead of her own.  She may not have been the one to dominate the room, but for the people who knew and loved her, her presence really mattered. 

She was a faithful and loyal servant of Jehovah God.  She loved to be active in teaching about the bible despite her many challenges.  Her hope will be realized in the future when her strong determination will match her strong and healthy body.

She will be dearly missed by her siblings; Leslie (Bob), Allan (Angie); her children Nadina, David (Maria), Rocky (Penny), daughter-in-law Cindy, Aaron (Brenda); grandchildren Kevin (Evelyn), Selina (Jonathon), Aaron, Jamie, Nathanael, Ethan, Marissa, Charles (Bree), Matthew (Chantelle), Brittany (Shusei), and Kirby; great grandchildren Isla, Zoey, Paisley, Emma, Davis, Kinley, Lily and Seira.

Jackye is predeceased by her sister Colleen, her son Leonard, and son-in-law Syd.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the kindness and care shown to Jackye by Dr. Froese and the staff at the Smithers Hospital.  A Memorial Service will be held by means of Zoom on January 30, 2021 at 4:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.  If you wish to attend, please contact David Hamblin at 250-877-7322.
