Neva Belle Florence Roe

June 11, 1936 – March 26, 2024

Neva passed away peacefully in her home at The Pines in Burns Lake, BC on March 26, 2024, at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, brother Lester and daughter-in-law Susan. She is survived by her four children Wayne, Terry (Jacquelyn), Leslie (Ed) and Brenda (Doug), 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren as well as her sister Barb.

Neva was born in Brightsand, Saskatchewan and grew up with her brother and sister working hard on the family farm. She later made a trip to Burns Lake to visit her sister and aunt where she met her future husband Fred, they married on June 26th, 1954.  They moved many times throughout the years but finally settled in Hazelton, BC where they finished raising their four children and became grandparents.

Neva spent many hours volunteering for Wrinch Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Thrift Store in Hazelton. Over the years she enjoyed outdoor picnics, gardening and camping and in her later years you would often hear her telling stories of all the fond memories she had.  As time went on, you could see that the true light in her life was watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. She was always cheering them on and loved to celebrate their successes with them.

Neva will be forever missed but never forgotten by all who were blessed to have known her. It was once written “Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.”
