It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Russell Kolida who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Russell is survived by his loving wife Elsie; his 6 children, Patricia, Bill, Cathy, Richard, Tammy and Kenny. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Russell was born and grew up in Dauphin, Manitoba. He farmed until he moved to Smithers in 1980 and worked at PIR until he retired at the age of 65. He enjoyed reading, picking mushrooms, walking his dog and gardening. He will be sadly missed and remembered.
A special thank you to Dr. Blouw, Dr. Page, the staff and volunteers from the Hospice Society and especially to Denise for your loving, kind support and care that you have shown to Russell and our family. It is greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
