Ruth Isabel Cunningham

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ruth Isabel Cunningham on December 8, 2022.  Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. Ruth leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Rodney, children Rodney Jr., Renie (Bernard), Ronda, Randy (Kama), Robyn (Glen), grandchild, Angel and siblings Gladys, Albert, and Terry.  Ruth was born in 1936 in Prince George as the tenth of twelve children of James and Gladys Tosoff and was the youngest girl. 
Ruth was a longtime resident of Smithers and loved the Bulkley Valley.  Ruth was passionate about life and fiercely devoted to her family. She was a very loving, kind, determined, and generous person with boundless spunk. Ruth immensely enjoyed connecting with people at local Smithers community events and her coffee outings with friends.
We are eternally grateful for the generosity and thoughtfulness of all those who dropped off treats and provided support over the years.  Thank you to all the Doctors, Home Support Services, Home Care Workers, Home Care Nursing, Smithers Community Health Services, Better at Home, and Hospice Association for your kind care and support.
A Celebration of Ruth's life will be announced at a later date.
Ruth will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
