Samuel John Towns

John Samuel Towns passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loved ones in the early morning hours of October 30th, 2018, at the age of 96. 

John was born December 9th, 1921 in Stepney, East London, England to James Louis and Mary Ellen Towns.  He was the 5th born of 8 siblings.  On March 9th, 1946 John married the love of his life, Jessie Eileen Jackson.  Together they had 1 child, Christine Sandra Towns.

In 1980 John moved to Canada to join his daughter.  It was here where he was blessed with his daughter getting married and then giving birth to his 2 grandchildren, Sean and Samantha.  His family was the most important thing to him in life and he valued them higher than anything else.

John was an avid golfer and could often be found playing 2 rounds of golf a day.  He loved telling stories and was always there to provide a good laugh.  His sense of humour was like no other.  Other hobbies John loved were boxing, bowling, playing cards, going for walks with his wife and dog Floss, and socializing with his friends and family. 

John was predeceased by his wife Jessie, and is survived by his brother James, daughter Christine (Wayne), his grandchildren, Sean (Nicola) and Samantha (Curtis) and his great-grandchildren, Claire and Oliver.
