Stephen Himech Obituary
We are saddened to announce the passing of Stephen Himech on Dec. 31, 2018. Steve was born in Piszczac, Poland on Feb. 2, 1934 and immigrated to Canada at the age of 5 with his family. They settled in the Ardmore, Alberta area. At the age of 18 Steve left home and settled in Houston, B.C. where he started working in the logging industry. Steve eventually owned and operated his own logging show until he retired in 1989.
Steve spent his retirement years doing the things he loved from riding horses, quadding and gardening to spending weeks at a time on his yacht, Point Five, fishing and exploring the B.C. coast. Steve liked to keep busy and loved farming his land, spending time in his shop fixing things and building lawn furniture and other woodworking projects.
Steve is survived by his wife Donna of 26 years, sons Earl (Naomi), Jim, Stan, sisters Stella and Lena, stepdaughters Tanya (Joe), Charla (Matthew), grandchildren Trevor, David, Rachel and many other extended family members.
Steve was predeceased by son Harry in 2014, brothers Pete, Paul, John and parents John and Nancy.
A gathering and memorial will be held in Spring/Summer 2019 in Houston, B.C.
